The Square, Novotel Siam Square Review

I happened to be around Siam, looking for something to eat in Paragon until I came up with the bright idea of revisiting one of my favorite "bang for buck" buffets in Bangkok, "The Square" at Novotel Siam Square.

They had a promotion going on last month, 500 Baht dinner buffets (Comes to about 580 Nett). Although the variaty wasn't as large as the bigger 5 star hotels that we have gone to, it is definitely worth it.

Some items on the menu include smoked salmon, prawns, sukiyaki, roast tenderloin (disappointing), lamb (delicious), a small indian section and an equally small dessert choice. I loaded myself up quite well with the fresh sashimi, roasted chicken, fish, but managed to resist the pizza that they also had on offer.

Enough text though, let the pictures do the talking.

Overall the variety of food choices at The Square may not be able to compete with other larger hotels, but the quality of food is definitely great. Service is excellent. It is also usually not crowded and might be a possible place to have a long lunch or dinner while shopping at Siam Square. Things that I would improve on would be the choice of desserts, especially the ice cream that I always stay away from (Bleh!), and the Indian food which came off too dry for me.

In the end we paid around 1100 for two people dining and left very satisfied. Coffee and Tea are included in the buffet. We would have spent just as much if not more eating at a restaurant inside Paragon. I have been here almost a dozen times and always felt like it is one of the better buffets in Bangkok.

  1. I love the smoked salmon and sashimi at The Square. There are many sauces and thin-sliced toast for the smoked salmon. They are very fresh and delicious^^

  2. Yes, the smoked salmon and condiments there are hard to beat. Very fresh and goes well with the thin slices of Melba toast that they have on offer. Can't think of any other Buffets that have it. If you're lucky, on some days they offer up to three different kinds of Smoked Salmon, sometimes just one. Definitely worth a visit though!
